Covid-19 transmission in Papua Province does not seem to show signs of decline. n contrast, in recent days the number of positive additions to the corona virus has continued to occur.

Up to Thursday (9/7/2020) night, the positive case of Covid-19 in Papua now reaches 2107 cases.

Papua Covid-19 Spokesperson Dr. Silwanus Sumule asked the public to continue using government protocols. Keeping a distance, wearing a mask, avoiding crowds and always washing hands.

“Because only in this way can we prevent the transmission of the virus, "Silwanus said in a teleconference on Thursday.

Meanwhile, from the 2107 positive Covid-19 in Papua, a total of 1022 were treated, 1063 recovered and 22 died.

Special credits are given to health workers, where the level of healing in Papua reaches 50 percent with mortality rate is only 1 percent.

Covid-19 Highest distribution occurred in Jayapura City with 1218 positive cases, 819 treated, 384 cured and 15 died.

Mimika Regency is the second with 429 cases, 63 treated, 360 recovered and 6 died.

Jayapura Regency in the third highest order with 205 cases, 82 treated, 122 cured and 1 died.

The Deputy Governor of Papua, Klemen Tinal in several occasions hopes more disciplined communities run health protocols, in order to prevent the transmission of corona viruses.

"Transmission of this virus is not over, so I ask the public to keep themselves to avoid this deadly virus” he said.
