The Indonesian National Sports Committee Asks Trainers to Have a Clear Program to Bring Athletes into Champions

The Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) of Papua reminds the trainers of 37 sports  who will compete in the National Sports Week (PON) XX 2021, in order to have a concrete program to be able to bring their athletes to donate medals.

The trainers and their assistants are also required to have a clear and structured training periodization plan.

Thus, the ability of the athlete is expected to develop and reach the peak of achievement when the four-year event is held in October 2021.

"If the coach cannot achieve with the athlete, it is better to stop being the coach going forward," said General Secretary of KONI, Kenius Kogoya in Jayapura, by teleconference on technical guidance for coaches and assistants which are included in Development and Training Center program of Papua National Sports Week XX 2021 projection in Jayapura.

According to him, The Indonesian National Sports Committee of Papua has already made a mapping program for the readiness of athletes to the upcoming National Sports Week XX 2021.

The Indonesian National Sports Committee of Papua also has a target to deliver the Land of Cenderawasih contingent, sitting in the top five of the National Sports Week XX 2021 upcoming.

Nevertheless, that responsibility also becomes a burden that must be borne by the coaches, as those who foster and manage athletes to win the championship

Meanwhile, the speaker in Development and Training Center of Papua, Paul L Pesurnay, said that a trainer must have the motivation to take the athletes in good achievement.

So a trainer should be required to apply 10 principles of practice to make it happen.
