Concern for Countermeasure of Covid-19, Indonesian Journalists Association of Papua Share Mask
The Coronavirus pandemic in Papua, which now reaches 2024 (July 17th, 2020) has made the press come to sympathize with prevention and countermeasures.
After some of the journalist Jayapura gave a free T-shirt prevention of Covid-19 to the residents, the turn of Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) Papua Province, Friday (July 17, 2020) evening, distributing masks to journalists, media workers, Papuan traders and public transport drivers in Jayapura.
The Secretary of Indonesian Journalists Association of Papua, Hans Bisay accompanied by another member, Lamberth Palaklely R. Edwin Senduk, distributed masks from Indonesian Journalists Association Center and PT. Gajah Tunggal on Friday morning.
The distribution of masks was held in the Public Broadcasting Institution Office of TVRI Papua Station at Bhayangkara, National News Agency ANTARA, the Bureau of Papua Province in Dok V, RRI Jayapura in Tasangkapura, the office of Cenderawasih Post in Entrop Jayapura.
Masks for the Papuan traders and drivers were given at Mama Papua Market, and Jayapura Mall.
The Papuan “Mama-Mama” who received the mask expressed appreciation to Indonesian Journalists Association of Papua and PT Gajah Tunggal for this assistance.
Hans Bisay said the event is one of Indonesian Journalists Association concern to break the chain of distribution of Covid-19 in Jayapura City.
"This activity is one of the programs of Indonesian Journalists Association Central in collaboration with PT. Gajah Tunggal Group gave 50 thousand masks, and we are as Indonesian Journalists Association of Papua got 1000 masks that have been distributed to press counterparts and Papuan traders “ Mama-Mama” and PublicTransport Driver in Jayapura City, “ he said.
Hans said, handling the spread of Coronavirus is not only the responsibility of the health officer, but must give more attention to all elements of society, including journalists.
The masks will be shared to the press counterpart in Jayawijaya, Mimika, Biak and Nabire Regency.
Hans added that Indonesian Journalists Association also socializes the usage of masks correctly to reduce the risk of Covid-19 infections.
