The Budget Refocusing of Papua still continue
The head of the Development Planning Agency at Sub-National Level of Papua, Yohanis Walilo ensures the process of refocusing or changing the budget policy of 2020, still continues to run as the impact of Covid-19.
Refocusing is also aimed to improve the budgeting for the handling of Covid-19 on the land of Cenderawasih which still increases significantly until now.
"Until now, we need to convey that the process of refocusing the budget is still running. This is obvious because Covid's pandemic is also still going on, "he explained in Jayapura on Tuesday.
According to him, a portion of the budget handling of Covid-19 from the province was handed over to districts and cities. It is because counties and cities are the most affected by Coronavirus exposure.
Papua provincial government has assisted financing for hospitals and the provision of health facilities in all districts and cities.
"The point of handling of Covid-19 is still continuing so if the district or city does the application and needs to be facilitated, then the budget team with the Covid team will hold a meeting. There is a hint from the leader that newly assisted to follow up, "said him.
In the handling of Covid-19, Papua's previous provincial government has budgeted IDR 77 billion from the provincial budget of Papua 2020. It will be given to 29 district/city governments respectively worth IDR 2 billion.
The budgeting was allocated to five referral hospitals in Nabire, Timika, Wamena, Merauke and Biak with a value of IDR 5 billion each of them.
Papua provincial government also handed over IDR 50 million for assistance of 17 student dormitories out of Papua
In addition to the budget support, the foodstuffs package will be given for 17 thousand people impacted by Covid. All of the assistance was handed over to the Department of Social Welfare and the Department of Industry and Trade of Papua.
