The Papua Provincial Government Forms a Withdrawal Team for the Special Autonomy Fund Disbursement Phase II

The Papua provincial government will form a team to encourage the disbursement of Special Autonomy Phase II, which has not been realized until now.

The Regional Secretary of Papua Ridwan Rumasukun ensures the delay in disbursement of Special Autonomy Fund will affect the distribution of the budget to districts and cities.

“We have conveyed to the Deputy Governor, Klemen Tinal that a team should be formed to go to Jakarta to solve the problem of the second phase of the Special Autonomy fund disbursement. Because the delay in disbursement is quite influential in the development process both in the province and the district", he said.

In addition to forming a team, they will also communicate directly with the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Finance, in order to encourage the disbursement.

"Because of other impacts of Special Autonomy disbursement, this second phase is the lack of funds to be accepted by districts and cities. Meanwhile, the economy still has to run".

“The budget for handling Covid-19 is an optimization of the district and city Regional Government Budget including also from the Special Autonomy fund. So that if it is too late or reduced, the handling of this pandemic will also be disrupted”, he explained.

Ridwan hopes that the team formed can leave as soon as possible. So that within this month, the second phase of the Special Autonomy funds can be disbursed.
