The Board of Office of the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) of Papua was confirmed to serve immediately in the new office, which was inaugurated by Governor Lukas Enembe on Monday (August 24, 2020), along with the Wisma Atlet building.

This was conveyed by General Secretary of Indonesian National Sports Committee Papua Kenius Kogoya in Jayapura, this afternoon.

As for the old office located next to Cenderawasih Sport Center, Jayapura, he continued, it will be the Secretariat of the training center of Papua Province as well as the Provincial Sports Manager.

"The space in the new office is also limited; the sports manager can't get in here. So, our old office is used other than for the Papua Training Center Secretariat, but also for sports branch administrators. While waiting from the government to decide what the place will be used for," he explained.

While related to the short-term program that KONI Papua will encourage after occupying the new office, Kenius made sure to immediately determine a third party who would manage the Wisma Atlet starting from food management for athletes, laundry and building maintenance.

"Because all the facilities in Wisma Atlet have four-star hotels standard so if it is not treated then it will be very unfortunate. The point is we want athletes to enter the Wisma Atlet so that TC is centered in Mandala when the management has been fixed," he concluded.
