Governor Assigns BPSDM to Facilitate 110 Indigenous Papuans Doctors In University of Indonesia

Governor Lukas Enembe, SIP, MH commissioned the Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM) of the Papua Province to facilitate 110 Indigenous Papuan doctors (OAP) specializing in the University of Indonesia.

Cooperation between the Government of Papua and the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Indonesia (FK-UI) through the Special Autonomy Papua Affirmation Specialist Scholarship Program 2020 in order to prepare health workers in Papua that until now it has not been evenly distributed in all regions of Papua.

"Governor and Deputy Governor of Papua, Lukas Enembe,SIP.MH and Klemen Tinal,SE.MM commissioned us to facilitate Papuan doctors who have passed administration in order to specialize at the University of Indonesia," said head of BPSDM, Aryoko AF Rumaropen,SP. M.Eng was interrupted by general briefing and explanation of further selection of Special Autonomy Papua Affirmative Physician Scholarship Program 2020 to OAP Doctors, Monday evening (9/28/2020) in the hall of BPSDM Papua Office, Kotaraja, Jayapura.

Aryoko said in line with the expectations of the governor and deputy governor, BPSDM Papua and FK-UI starting pre-matriculation or online science equality for 110 prospective OAP specialists next week.

"The meeting agreed on the implementation of online pre-matriculation centered in Jayapura. This pre-matriculation will be held next week," said Aryoko accompanied by Secretary of Papuan BPSDM Anthony M. Mirin,S.Sos.

Pre-matriculation is held online taking into account geographical conditions and aspects of the availability of communication and internet facilities.  

Therefore, Aryoko said, doctors who are in charge in remote areas and districts are expected to adjust according to the schedule to be set. 

Support from regents, vice regents, regional secretaries, head of health department and hospital directors as well as heads of health centers in the district is also expected to realize the efforts to improve the human resources of these doctors.

According to him, in addition to collaborate with FK-UI, the Papua Provincial Government also explored cooperation with Gaja Mada University (UGM) Yogyakarta, Diponegoro University of Central Java, and Airlangga University (Unair) Surabaya East Java and Hasanuddin University (Unhas) Makassar South Sulawesi for human resources development cooperation of Papuan doctors through BPSDM.

Meanwhile, Head of Planning of Papua's Affirmation and Human Resources Education Program, Elius Enembe, S.Kep, M.Kes added pre-matriculation aims to prepare doctors early so that when FK-UI entrance selection, they can compete according to the standards of those universities.
