Musa'ad Encourages Wearing Masks in Waropen

Regent (interim) of Waropen Muhammad Musa'ad confirmed that he would campaign for the movement of masks on his territory, to prevent the transmission of Covid-19 in the fractional district of the Yapen Islands.

Musa'ad, who is also the Deputy Chief Executive of the Papua Province's Covid-19 Handling and Prevention Task Force is scheduled to hand over 5,000 masks and tens of liters of hand sanitizer to the governor, Monday (5/10/2020).

"I will give masks and hand sanitizer to the Regional Secretariat Waropen tomorrow. That way, I would like to encourage the movement of masks and hand sanitizers in Waropen starting tomorrow in order to maintain Waropen status remains in the green zone of Covid transmission," explained Musa'ad via his mobile phone, Sunday (4/10/2020). 

He ensured that, in an effort to minimize covid-19 transmission, it immediately issued the Regulation of the Head of Regional Enforcement of Covid-19 Health Protocol Discipline.

Thus, it is expected that the spread of Covid-19 in Waropen can be better resolved even with zero transmission.

"Moreover, I am Regent of Waropen, also appointed as Chairman of the Task Force on Handling and Prevention of Covid-19 in Waropen".

"That's why the Covid-19 Health Protocol Discipline Enforcement Act will be the first one for me to sign immediately," he said.

Musa'ad on that occasion will meet all related elements to accelerate the issuance of the Covid-19 Health Protocol Disciplinary Enforcement Tool because the publication is direct instruction of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

"Especially for the regions that hold elections it is mandatory. Therefore, in the near future, I will also meet KPU and Bawaslu then meet or visit the post or secretariat of the winning spouse of the candidate".

"I would like to meet with the four candidates in Waropen for how to talk about regional elections peacefully and democratically but pay attention to the enforcement of the discipline of health protocols. So it will be a successful election, but also safe from Covid-19," he concluded.
