The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Papua: Focus on Budget 2021 To Support National Sports Week
The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Papua (DKP) is still prioritizing the management of the budget to support the implementation of National Sports Week (PON) XX.
Among them supports the availability of fish for approximately 11 thousand athletes and athletes who will attend National Sports Week in four clusters of events namely, Jayapura, Mimika and Merauke cities and districts.
"The focus of the budget remains to support the National Sports Week. Certainly to support fish cultivation as well as for fishermen for fish catches," explained Secretary of Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Papua Carlos Matuan, in Jayapura, Thursday (8/10/2020).
Nevertheless, Carlos hopes the budget of Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Papua in 2021 is not expected to fall by the end of the fiscal year.
If he can vote, he hopes the budget can come down at the beginning of the year or a maximum of 4-5 months before the National Sports Week implementation.
"This National Sports Week is in October, if the budget drops in October then it is difficult for us in the service to prepare support for fish availability for example".
"At least it should be 4 or 5 months before October. So that we maximum support for National Sports Week," he hoped.
The availability of fish production, Carlos added, it has actually started in 2019 with the target of implementation of National Sports Week in October 2020.
It's just that the time shift in the National Sports Week implementation makes it necessary to re-make adjustments.
"The name of the fish is different for the catch in the sea with the cultivation. If fish cultivation maximum production 3-4 months. If it is kept for a year it is very unlikely because the fish is already very large".
"That's why we hope that in the budget in 2020 changes there will also be additional funding for us to start a program of cultivation activities. So that is even more maximal in the preparation of fish for National Sports Week in 2021," he said.
