The Corruption Eradication Commission said that Monitoring Centre for Prevention is not optimal
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said the results of the Monitoring Centre for Prevention (MCP) 2020 of the Papua Provincial Government, are still not optimal enough.
MCP is an application made by the Corruption Eradication Commission to evaluate and monitor integrated corruption eradication in the region. MCP application aims, making it easier to monitor.
"We see that the prevention (and eradication of corruption) carried out by the Papuan Provincial Government has not been optimal. Therefore, in the future, a strong commitment is needed in making improvements, so that it is more maximum in the years to come," explained head unit Prevention Directorate V of Corruption Eradication Commission Sugeng Basuki, in Jayapura, Monday (2/8/2021).
The Corruption Eradication Commission, he continued, highlighted efforts to prevent corruption of Papuan provincial government in the field of Regional Asset Management which is only 42.20 percent. Where the achievement is still very low, it needs to be a strong commitment and integrated coordination between institutions, in order to maximize regional asset management.
"Indeed, the assets of the Papua Provincial Government in handling it are still low. This asset is related to how the administration must also be equipped with a certificate for example. So to maximize it, I think there needs to be cooperation with relevant agencies that request a speeding up of the certification process".
"Then the assets of the service vehicles, I think the Papua Provincial Government just invites the police or prosecutors to make withdrawals. If you refuse to return, just ask for a legal process. The goal is so that the achievements of his management can improve and better prevent than to act on it," he explained.
Meanwhile, Assistant General Secretary of Papua Ridwan Rumasukun and his staff are ready to make improvements so that MCP achievements this year will be much better.
"Indeed, our efforts to prevent corruption in Papua have been hampered by the COVID-19 pandemic. So that the implementation of regional apparatus organization performance related to local government is less effective. But we will strive so that in the future, our performance will be better," he said.
It is known that the percentage of MCP achievements in 2020 in Papua Province as of January 11, 2021 reaches 68 percent.
