The Regent of Asmat Urges People not to Be Provoked to Interfere Security
Regent of Asmat Elysa Kambu urged people in his region to refrain and not be provoked by invitations aimed at disrupting the stability of regional security.
The community is expected not to be provoked quickly, because government and community services have not been able to run well if the security situation is not conducive.
"The election is over, now is the time for all of us to join hands to build Asmat that is advanced, prosperous and dignified," invited the Regent in a statement to the press in Jayapura, Thursday (03/04/2020)
He explained that the current situation and conditions in Agats, the capital of Asmat Regency, Papua, after the destruction of the Regent's office and the Electoral Commission office and several other facilities, have been gradually conducive.
The State Civil Apparatus is ensured to immediately take office and open services to the community. It will also soon return to Asmat to meet with all stakeholders to coordinate with the ranks of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda).
"For sure I immediately return and make reconciliation so that actions that can harm the government and society will not be repeated and continued".
"Therefore, I invite the entire Asmat community to no longer compartmentalize the group, but let's be united. Realizing the implementation of development in Asmat," he asked.
Earlier, Asmat Police Chief, Adjunct Senior Commissioner of Police (AKBP) Dhani Gumilar, said the situation can be controlled now.
The community around Agats City has also started to carry out activities as usual.
The police along with the National Army also intensified patrols. Meanwhile, an additional 20 Mobile Brigade Corps from Merauke have arrived and are now conducting security in a number of vital areas.
