Appointment of Waropen Regent, the Deputy Governor speech about Society Empowerment in Economic Sector

Another pair of Regional Heads elected in the 2020 Papua regional elections, was appointed.

Waropen Regent Yermias Bisai and Deputy Lamek Maniagasi were appointed by Deputy Governor of Papua Klemen Tinal at State Building, Jayapura, Monday (3/15/2021).

At the same time, Wentius Nimiangge was appointed as Regent of Nduga for the remainder of the 2017-2022 term and Chaerul Anwar as Regent of Boven Digoel for the remainder of the 2016-2021 term.

In his direction, Klemen asked the newly appointed regional heads to be able to empower the people in his region in the economic sector. Among by preparing handicrafts to be used as souvenirs of National Sports Week XX 2021 upcoming.

"That way, so that the indigenous people of Papua can feel the economic impact of the national event," he explained.

It is said that the office of regent is the supreme leader in the region that has the people and the territory. Therefore, it is obligatory for the law to set a good example to the community.

On the other hand, Klemen stated that in the era of his leadership with Governor Lukas Enembe, allocated 80 percent of Special Autonomy funds, to be fully managed by the District and the City.

Therefore, the newly appointed regional heads in order to make the best use of the funds, to support the community development process, more specifically indigenous people of Papua

Previously, four pairs of regional heads of regional elections simultaneously 2020, appointed Governor Lukas Enembe at the State Building Jayapura, Wednesday (3/3/2021) by implementing strict health protocols. 

Four pairs of regional heads were appointed respectively, Regent and Deputy Regent of Keerom Piter Gusbager - Wafhir Kosasi, Regent and Deputy Regent of Merauke Romanus Mbaraka - H. Riduwan.

Furthermore, the pair of Regent and Deputy Regent of Asmat Elisa Kambu - Thomas Eppe Safanpo, and the pair of Regent and Deputy Regent of Pegunungan Bintang Spey Yan Birdana - Piter Kalakmabin.
