Ministry for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Make Sure To Help Accommodation Needs for National Sports Week in Papua
The Ministry for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs is ready to assist accommodation for the implementation of National Sports Week in Papua, in October 2021.
The assistance is to instruct the ministry-level institutions to support transportation and floating lodgings for athletes and officials from all provinces.
"Earlier we had a meeting with the Ministry for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, we conveyed that the ministry under him will provide Hercules aircraft transportation equipment for athletes and officials who carry fittings".
"We also ask for the addition of ships to become floating hotels in Papua. Ministry for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs will determine the steps to address the readiness of National Sports Week in Papua," explained Daily Chairman of National Sports Week Committee, Yunus Wonda, in Jakarta, Tuesday (16/3/2021).
Yunus ensured that he also visited PT Freeport in Jakarta, discussing assistance for the implementation of National Sports Week, both in the form of sponsors and others. Although previously had built a venue in Mimika Regency.
"They (Freeport) are ready to help us, moreover Freeport is also part of the National Sports Week host," he said.
While considering the implementation of National Sports Week XX will still be implemented on 2 to 15 October 2021 as affirmed by President Joko Widodo, Chairman Yunus Wonda asked all levels of four-yearly events in Papua to focus and seriously work to fulfill their respective responsibilities.
He also called on all Papuans to succeed National Sports Week by ensuring that Papua is in a safe and controlled condition.
"In a meeting with the President at the palace, Mr. Jokowi asked National Sports Week to be carried out as scheduled on October 2 to 15. So the ministry is asked to pay attention to Papua for the implementation and budget needs".
"That's why on this occasion I ask for the support of the community and make sure that Papua remains in a safe state and we all the people guarantee National Sports Week will be successful," he concluded
