All participants of National Sports Week XX Papua must be vaccinated
The results of the National Sports Week Committee meeting with Central KONI, obliged all participants of National Sports Week XX 2021, to follow the COVID-19 vaccine, before come to Papua.
This was conveyed by the Vice Chairman of KONI Pusat who is also the Chairman of the board of trustees of National Sports Week XX Papua, Suwarno, in a release that was shouted by the editor, Thursday (18/03/2021).
Thus, not only athletes, both officials from each province and the organizing committee of National Sports Week XX must get a vaccine before being involved in it.
"Even the people around the venue must get a vaccine".
"So that the implementation of National Sports Week on 2 to 15 October 2021 does not become a new cluster of COVID-19 transmission," he said.
Suwarno also asked all KONI of each province, coordinating with the local government so both athletes and officials can be immediately vaccinated.
The implementation of National Sports Week XX is getting closer so that in the rest of the current time, it can be utilized to complement things that are lacking.
"It is only 196 days if we count from now until October 2, 2021. But there are actually several sports who compete using one venue. So on September 19, some athletes and officials came and competed on September 21".
"Therefore, the implementation remains 184 days. So we must also effectively prepare everything, including this vaccine process," he said.
On that occasion, Suwarno urged all parties involved in the management of the National Sports Week Committee to focus on preparing everything needed, considering the implementation time is getting closer.
“If possible, the existing sectors will immediately go down to the cluster to determine what policies will be made after athletes and officials arrive in Papua. Of course this will be done after the CDM meeting early next month," he said.
