National Sports Week XX Journalist Registration Closed April 1, 2021

Registration of journalists covering National Sports Week XX 2021 Papua will close early, on April 1, 2021.

According to Deputy Secretary of Public Relations and Media Broadcasting Service of National Sports Week Committee of Papua, Kadkis Matdoan, the decision is to facilitate other areas in determining accommodation and transportation for press workers.

"Registration of this journalist has been opened online since July 1, 2020, so it needs to be verified immediately".

"Because if we wait until June or August (verification), we are worried that we will be overwhelmed considering the dense preparations made by other fields ahead of the implementation day," explained Kadkis, Wednesday (3/24/2021), in Jayapura.

Kadkis urged all journalists throughout Indonesia who are interested in covering the national sports agenda, immediately register in the application(https://bidanghumas.ponxx2020papua.com/public/registration)provided by National Sports Week Committee of Papua, in the remaining seven days.

So that it can be issued an ID Card from the field of ICT PON Papua, as an entrance to the venue, transportation, consumption and even accommodation from the organizing committee.

"The initial quota for the journalist was 1,000 people but the accommodation will be not enough".

"That's why we think 600 people is more realistic. So we will do verification to be reported to the leadership soon," he said.

Meanwhile, for journalists who have not registered, he continued, National Sports Week Committee Papua is considering manually reopening the registration (not through the application or web).

It's just that they won't count accommodation, consumption and even transportation.

"So for hotels, journalists from outside Papua will pay for themselves. Well maybe we can provide transportation but only to the extent that," he explained.

Related to foreign media covering National Sports Week, Kadkis added, it will still coordinate with the relevant fields in the National Sports Week Committee, because there are quite a lot of procedures that must be passed.
