Human Development Index of Papua has continued to improve in the last five years

Human Development Index Growth of the Papua Province (HDI) in the last five years is believed to have continued to improve even though nationally it is relatively the lowest and is in the lowest position.

Assistant Secretary of Papua for Economy and People's Welfare, Muhammad Musa'ad said the growth of Papuan HDI in the last year was seen in the increase in Life Expectancy to 68.79 years.

The Expected Years School became 11.08 years, although the Mean Years School 6.69 years.

"Then there is per capita expenditure that rose from 2018 to 2019 to 7,336, only to fall due to Covid-19 to 6,959 in 2020". 

"And indeed the condition of Human Development Index in the district / city in Papua is uneven because of geographical, social, cultural and political factors and not to mention security," he said, in a release received by the editor, Sunday.

Still according to him, the development planning process in the Papua Province is currently ongoing, ahead of the remaining two years of Governor Lukas Enembe's leadership.

Therefore, at the end of the leadership, the Governor and Deputy Governor of Papua encouraged all Regional Apparatus Organization to be able to prepare a monumental development program to be the pride of the community.

"In addition to the National Sports Week XX venue and other infrastructure that has been built at this time," he said.

Head of Regional Development Planning Agency of Papua, Yohanes Walilo said there are a number of development priorities that must be translated into the Work Plan of Regional Apparatus Working Unit in 2022, with macro objectives.

Among them Human Development Index projection of 62.27, poverty projection rate of 25.89, projected economic growth of 5.64, GDP per capita without mine projection of 48.23, GINI projection ratio of 0.0380, open development rate projection of 3.60, connectivity area projection of 70, and intensity of GHG emission projection of 0.31.
