Deputy Governor Asks Security Authorities to Immediately Control the Situation in Beoga
The Deputy Governor of Papua requested that the security authorities immediately control the security and order situation in Beoga District, Puncak Regency.
Because education, health and government services must return to normal as soon as possible.
"Our community also asked to help so that activities can return to be normal there," explained Deputy Governor Klemen in Jayapura, Thursday (15/4/2021).
Nevertheless, the Deputy Governor supported the evacuation of migrants in Beoga District, which local security forces continue to conduct. In the last two days, 40 people have been evacuated out of Beoga.
"The evacuation of migrants, the majority of teachers and health workers in Beoga, Puncak Regency, is important for their safety. Local natives are also expected to assist with the evacuation.
Klemen again stated, the act of violence for whatever reason the Armed Criminal Group committed against the teachers, is the wrong action.
Moreover, the victims are teachers who struggle to educate the children of Beoga, who are the next generation of the nation.
"This mountainous region of Papua is too late to get an education because of the teaching of religion that first entered there. So, (anyone) don't mess up education (by killing teachers) so that our children can move forward," he said.
Previously, two teachers were the victims of shootings in Beoga District, Puncak Regency, Papua, namely Oktovianus Roya and Yonatan Randen.
Armed criminal groups reasoned that the two teachers were spies of the Indonesia National Army/Police officers.
The police also dismissed the statement. Police said the statement was a classic reason for their acts of terror to be understood.
Most recently, a motorcycle taxi driver who was shot dead by Armed Criminal Group in Eromaga Village, Omukia District, Puncak Regency, a day ago.
