People do not obey Activity Restriction will be penalized

In the coming days, the Papua Provincial Government will soon issue rules for the Implementation of Micro Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM), which will limit activities from 06.00 to 20.00 WIT.

The decision, as the result of a meeting with the Coordination Forum for Regional Leaders of Papua, addressed the increasing cases of COVID-19 in some areas in Papua.

In response, the Chairman of the COVID-19 Task Force of Papua, Weliam Manderi, confirmed that he would enforce the rule. Strict sanctions will be given to people who do not obey the hours of activity restrictions.

This was conveyed by Manderi to reporters in Jayapura on Monday.

Not until there, Manderi said it will coordinate with the relevant parties to tighten surveillance at ports and airports. This is so that, Delta variant virus does not reach Papua.

On the other hand, he will do mask swiping in crowded places, which will cooperate with the Police

"Especially for those who sit in the crowd without wearing masks, we will be tighter (firmly, red) again," he said.

Papua Regional Secretary Dance Yulian Flassy urged the district and city governments to speed up the implementation of COVID-19 vaccination. Thus, it is expected that the transmission of coronavirus can be minimized and prevented completely.

"Vaccination must go, the community must be vaccinated, moreover we will soon hold National Sports Week," he hopes.
