BPSDM Papua Collaborates with Uncen to Review Health Human Resources

The Government of Papua Province through the Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM) in collaboration with Cenderawasih University (Uncen), Tuesday afternoon (6/7/2021) held a Preliminary Seminar on Planning the Needs of Health Affirmation Scholarships at the @Hom Premiere Abepura Hotel, Jayapura City.

This introductory seminar is a stage to develop the needs of affirmation scholarships for Health Workers (Nakes) in 5 indigenous areas including Mamta, Sareri, Anim Ha, La Lago, and me Pago.

Mamta customary areas include Jayapura City, Jayapura Regency, Keerom Regency, Sarmi Regency and Mamberamo Raya Regency.

Saireri customary areas include Biak Numfor, Supiori, Yapen and Waropen.

La Pago customary area includes, namely Jayawijaya Regency, Pegunungan Bintang, Lanny Jaya, Tolikara, Nduga, Puncak Jaya, Yalimo, Yahukimo, Membramo Tengah and Puncak Regency.

Then the traditional areas of Mee Pago include Dogiyai, Deiyai, Nabire, Intan Jaya, Paniai and Mimika. And Anim Ha customary area includes Merauke, Boven Digoel, Asmat, and Mappi.

To BPSDM Papua Province, Aryoko AF Rumaropen, SP, M.Eng said, the preliminary seminar held today is a process or early stages to conduct studies and research on scholarship needs of health workers.

"Why do we go through this process with a study, the goal is so that we can see the inequality between the data of health workers today and the real needs of health workers in the Papua region. This research cooperation is supported by the Papua Provincial Government through the Human Resources Development Agency of Papua province with a professional group of the Faculty of Public Health of Uncen,"Said Aryoko.

The study of affirmation scholarship needs for health workers, Aryoko continued, was conducted in 5 indigenous areas in 29 city districts throughout Papua, over the next 6 months.

"Studies and research were conducted in city districts in 5 indigenous areas. We need accurate and proportionate data between health workers and the number of people served through a comprehensive study. So the result we use to prepare intervention from the Papua Provincial Government in terms of financing for health workers in need in each customary region," he said.

According to him, according to the direction of the Governor of Papua, Lukas Enembe, SIP, MH, the study and research conducted in addition to supporting the development of the competence of the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) in Papua, as well as for the improvement of Human Resources of Indigenous Papuans (OAP) especially in the field of health.

Aryoko said the research will involve the city district government through technical agencies and stakeholders including community leaders, religious leaders, women leaders and health workers who have served in remote and isolated areas.

"We are grateful to the governor for fully supporting the development of ASN competencies and affirmation education, but also we were given the opportunity to conduct several studies to support the process - the work process in the field of improving Papuan human resources, one of which is the study of scholarship needs for health workers," he said.

The Preliminary Seminar held on Tuesday afternoon was attended by the Regional Work Equipment Unit (SKPD), related agencies in the field of Education and Health, members of Commission V of the Papuan People's Representative Council (DPRP), MRP Representatives in affirmation, Unicef representatives, Nursing Academy, Jayapura Poltekes, and others.
