According to the Head of the Communication and Informatics Department (Kominfo) of Papua Jeri A. Yudianto, the Ministry of Transportation is now just waiting for the remaining 211 buses, to then be carried out GPS installation with the target completed before August 21, 2021.

"Thus, according to the plan, it is expected that in early September, operational buses for National Sports Week will be in four clusters of National Sports Week XX maintenance," explained Jeri by telephone, Tuesday (7/27/2021) morning.

Jeri who the day before with the head of the Transportation Department of Papua held a meeting with the Directorate General of Land Transportation of Republic of Indonesia (Kemenhub RI) accompanied by Secretary of Directorate General of Land Transportation (Kemenhub RI) in Jakarta, also discussed the recruitment of drivers (from Papua) for 217 units of micro bus from the Ministry of Transportation.

"Technically, the recruitment of drivers from Papua will be asked directly to the Head of the Papua Transportation Department," he said.

Meanwhile, the GPS process that includes installation and testing is estimated to take a maximum of 7 working days for 217 buses given.

The existence of GPS is expected to maximize land transportation services for athletes and officials, through the application system during National Sports Week XX and National Paralympic Week XVI.

The cluster of Jayapura City and Jayapura Regency get the allocation of 298 units. Mimika and Merauke clusters get 92 units and 38 units.
