Greeting Refugees Victims of Flood 2019, the Minister of Social Affairs Risma Promises to Build 76 Units of House

Today (Saturday, red) evening, the Ministry of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini made a visit to Jayapura, Papua, to distribute logistical assistance to people affected by the disaster, as well as strengthen economic empowerment, and human resource development.

On this occasion, Risma met the victims of the flood in Sentani in 2019 at Palomo Refugee Post, Sentani, Jayapura Regency.

Furthermore, he also had the opportunity to review the land that is planned to be established housing for refugees, not far from Palomo Post. As many as 76 houses will be built for the residents of the Ekklesia Church, Milinik Cyckloop who became refugees at Palomo post.

"With the construction of the house, the refugees are expected to get more decent housing," explained the Minister of Social Affairs in front of the refugees.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Social Affairs distributed various assistance with a total value of IDR 949,912,000. With the details of assistance in the form of accession aids (wheelchairs, tripods, and walkers) as much as 152 units with a value of IDR 149,850,000.

Then, entrepreneurial assistance (tire patch workshop business, stamp business, chicken satay business, screen printing business, HP service business, and beverage shop business) as many as 395 packages with a value of IDR 125.200.000. As much as 20 packages with a value of IDR 65,600,000 assistance for shops and grocery kiosks

There is also assistance for cattle, goats and pigs farmers as much as 24 packages with a value of IDR 77,000,000. Furthermore, assistance for basic needs, namely food, clothing, vitamins, and masks as much as 550 packages with a value of IDR 532,362,000.

The Ministry of Social Affairs also distributes mask and vitamin assistance through Karang Taruna Jayapura city and Jayapura district.

Assistance was delivered as many as 1,270 packages per District / City, a total of 2,540 aid packages. While for other districts / cities, it will be sent using PT. Pos Indonesia.

Meanwhile, in the presence of Papuan leaders and people, the Minister of Social Affairs motivates children and youth to be optimistic. The conditions they face are not expected to be an obstacle for progress and prosperous life.
