Assistant for Economic Affairs and Welfare of the People of Papua, Muhammad Musa'ad admitted, absorption in government agencies entering the end of August 2021, is still below 50 percent.

This is because most of the programs and activities that have been planned by the Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD) cannot be run. "Because there is no budget available as a result has been refocused for COVID-19 handling activities”.

"Many Regional Apparatus Organizations are also waiting for a change hearing for the program to be revised, which is what causes the absorption to be low," Musa'ad said.

He said, it should be in the eighth month like this, the absorption rate of the budget is already above 50 percent.

Therefore, continued Musa'ad, his party has recently encouraged all OPD in the Papua Provincial Government to immediately implement the programs and activities that have been established, if there is already a budget.

"But I think we will continue to push for absorption because normally, towards the end of the year, the absorption of this budget will go up."

"Evident from year to year the absorption of the Papua Provincial Government has always been in the range of 95-96 percent. But we continue to encourage OPD to maximize the performance," Musa'ad said.
