COVID Task Force Targets Vaccination to Reach 70 Percent Before National Sports Week
JAYAPURA - Task Force Prevention and Handling of COVID-19 Papua Province targets the vaccination process to reach 70 percent, two weeks ahead of the implementation of the National Sports Week XX 2021.
This was stated by the Chairman of the Task Force on Prevention and Handling of COVID-19 Papua Province, Welliam R. Manderi in Jayapura on Friday.
"We will need the COVID-19 vaccination process in Papua, especially the four clusters of National Sports Week to be accelerated, ahead of the implementation of National Sports Week. This is also as directed by the National Army Commander and Police Chief during a visit to Papua," he explained.
Manderi also hopes that the participation of the community in four clusters that can voluntarily vaccinate, so that the target of herd immunity will be achieved. One of the efforts of the government is to accelerate vaccination through collaboration with the National Army / Police.
Previously, the Commander of Indonesia National Armed Forces, Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto together with Police Chief, General Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo held a limited meeting on handling COVID-19 in Jayapura, Thursday (26/8).
Chairman of Central KONI, Marciano Norman said as directed by President Joko Widodo, all departing contingents and Papuans around the arena should have been vaccinated.
Marciano also hopes that the Papua Provincial Government will speed up the scope of the vaccination process, more specifically in the four clusters that host for National Sports Week. ***
