Governor Enembe Inaugurated Wisma Atlet & Indonesia National Sport Committee of Papua Office
The Governor of Papua Lukas Enembe inaugurated the Wisma Atlet and Indonesia National Sport Committee office at Jayapura Mandala Stadium complex, Monday (August 24, 2020).
The inauguration was marked by the sound of sirens and the opening of the inauguration board veil, attended by FORKOMPINDA, The local bureaucracy (OPD), KONI manager, athletes and sports administrators.
In his direction, Lukas Enembe said, with the inauguration of Wisma Atlet will be a new milestone for the world of Papuan sports. "We want to make Papua a province of football and athletics," he said.
According to him, National Sports Week athletes who will carry out training centers (TC) can already stay in Wisma Atlet.
The head of the Public Works Office of Papua Province Girius One Yoman explained that the Wisma Atlet building and KONI office were built on one roof on an area of approximately 2,944 square meters.
Construction financing is from the budget fund for nine years starting from 2011 to 2019 in total IDR313 billion.
Wisma Atlet building and KONI office has seven floors with a total parking capacity of 264 vehicles and can accommodate 524 athletes.
Meanwhile, the General Secretary of KONI Papua, Kenius Kogoya hopes that, with the inauguration of Wisma Atlet Building and KONI Papua Office, he is optimistic that he will further encourage athletes to train and carve out achievements in National Sports Week XX 2021.
"We hope that with this Wisma Atlet could encourage sports administrators and athletes to prepare more maturely to excel at National Sports Week next year," he said.
