Handover of Duty of Regional Secretary

Papua Governor Lukas Enembe officially transferred the duties of Secretary of Dance Yulian Flassy to Assistant General Affairs Ridwan Rumasukun, witnessed by the Regional Apparatus Organizations of provincial government.

Ridwan is now the Acting Secretary of Papua until the definitive appointment letter from the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The handover ceremony took place on Wednesday (7/14/2021), at Dok V State Building, Jayapura.

Governor Enembe in his speech could not cover the disappointment of the performance of Dance Flassy which is considered often to pass the authority of a regional head.

Although Dance is a career official (bureaucracy), it often appears political.

"He (Dance Flassy) has exceeded the governor's authority. That's why the task of regional secretary is handed over to Ridwan as the executor of the task (Plt) until waiting for a definitive decree from the Minister of Home Affairs," said Enembe.

Some of Dance Flassy's controversial statements include the acceleration of the establishment of the South Papua Province which should be the authority of the regional head.

In fact, Governor Enembe has officially asked the central government to conduct a moratorium on provincial expansion, because Papua is focusing on preparing PON and Peparnas.

"(A regional secretary should not speak politics) it is not your authority. Unless I (the governor) gives a mandate," he complained.

The Governor advised Dance Flassy to participate in the 2024 regional elections as Governor of Papua, if he has ambitions to become a regional head.

Therefore, he asked all parties including Dance Flassy to respect his existence as the Papuan leader elected by the people simultaneously in the political process of the Papua Governor Election.

"That's why I hope Ridwan Rumasukun can carry out the task entrusted by still coordinating with the leadership".

"We also appreciate Dance who has been in charge for 3 months in the provincial government by releasing respectfully. Dance is also approaching retirement. That's why I've written to the President, I'm not extending his term of office," he said.
