Regents and Mayors Asked to Consistently Run Community Activities Restrictions (PPKM)
The Papua Provincial Government expects consistent regents and mayors in implementing the policy of Enforcing Restrictions on Community Activities Restrictions (PPKM) in each region.
Where four areas are the venue of National Sports Week (PON) XX 2021 Papua, must implement Level 4 Community Activities Restrictions. While the rest run levels 3 and 2.
That, according to the Assistant for Economic and Welfare of the People of the Papuan Regional Secretary, Muhammad Musaad, aims to suppress the transmission of COVID-19 which is also one of the conditions for the President to decide on the implementation of National Sports Week XX, with or without spectators.
"There is no other purpose; the main goal is to prevent the transmission of COVID-19. And secondly we are entering the preparation of National Sports Week," explained Musa'ad in Jayapura on Thursday.
In addition to the local government, Musa'ad also urged people throughout Papua to adhere to Community Activities Restrictions policies in each region.
The efforts to reduce the rate of transmission of COVID-19 will not be maximized if the government works alone without the support of citizens.
Added, currently the Papua Provincial Government in accordance with the instructions of Governor Enembe is trying to encourage the implementation of vaccination to all citizens, in order to achieve Herd Immunity before the implementation of multi-event National Sports Week.
So that during the implementation of the four-yearly event, it does not cause a new cluster of COVID-19 transmission.
