National Sports Week Committee Prepares ID Card For 1,157 Journalists

The National Sports Week (PB PON) XX Papua Committee prepared 1,157 identity cards for journalists in Indonesia who will cover the quadrennial event.

The amount is the result of the registration of National Sports Week journalists independently and collectively from the media and KONI throughout Indonesia, which was opened online from July 1, 2020 to April 1, 2021.

That number, also coupled with registrations made offline at the same time.

"We have opened the registration (journalist covering PON) since July 1, 2020, closed April 1, 2021. The results are quite remarkable there are as many as 1,157 journalists who will be in charge of covering the implementation of National Sports Week XX 2021 in Papua".

"This number will be divided into four clusters, namely Jayapura, Merauke and Mimika. This data will be reported to the leadership to be finalized and there are no additional journalists (after registration is closed)," explained Deputy Secretary IV of Public Relations and PPM PB PON Papua, Kadkis A. Matdoan, in Jayapura, Tuesday (10/08/2021).

Meanwhile, a total of 1,157 journalists covering National Sports Week XX will be provided with accommodation, consumption and local transportation in each cluster.

The journalists also get facilities in all media centers, including computers, Wi-Fi and other supporting equipment.

While questioning the issuance of ID Cards, Kadkis ensured that it will be completed in the near future because the auction process of making identity cards of PON journalists, as well as athletes and officials, has been completed.

The database of 1,157 journalists covering PON was previously officially submitted by the Head of the Verification Team of Journalists covering PON Papua, Hans Alfaro to Deputy Secretary IV of Public Relations and PPM PB PON Papua, Kadkis A. Matdoan, Tuesday.

A total of 1,175 journalists covering PON verification results consisted of Papuan media 457 people, national TV 84 people, national online media 81 people, national print media 25 people and media contingent of 246 people.

Then central TVRI 158 people, central RRI 52 people, public relations journalists of Ministry of Youth and Sport 49 people and journalists SIWO PWI 5 people.
