Head of Public Works and Public Housing Department (PUPR) of Papua Girius One Yoman is optimistic that the construction work of National Sports Week (PON) XX 2021 can be completed on time.

This is because the party is actively conducting field visits as well as checking and encouraging third parties to complete the work as soon as possible.

"We continue to accelerate the implementation of PON infrastructure development. We target that all infrastructure can be completed in September, so that there can be a test before the event is held," said Girius in Jayapura, Thursday (12/8/2021).

Currently, according to Girius, it is pushing for the completion of road infrastructure development to all venues. On the other hand, the Public Works and Public Housing Department also encourages road widening that gets many challenges from the community.

"But we continue to be persuasive and appeal to citizens to support government programs. Moreover, it is the first national event held in Papua, so the road to the venue must be spruced up," he said.

Known to support the implementation of PON in Papua, the Public Works and Public Housing Department has been working on 38 packages of alternative road construction work PON XX 2021 since last year.

A total of 38 packages, ranging from Sentani Airport Jayapura District to Base G, Jayapura City.

Alternative road works also aim to connect and parse congestion when National Sports Week XX is held.
