Papeda Application Ready to Distribute Credit for Small Medium Enterprise (MSME)

JAYAPURA - After being inaugurated by Papua Governor Lukas Enembe recently, the application program of the Regional Financial Access Acceleration program (PAPEDA), is certainly ready to provide credit assistance for 500 Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Papua.

No kidding, for the initial stage of credit assistance the Papua Provincial Government will be given to 500 eligible MSMEs.

This is confirmed by the Head of the Ministry of Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, MSMEs and Labor of Papua, Omah Laduani Ladamay, in Jayapura on Monday.

"The Governor assessed that so far many MSMEs have not developed, so the government and banks developed a new pattern to help them through the PAPEDA application program"

"Through this program, it is expected that MSMEs in Papua can be more developed and become strong and in the future truly independent and professional," he hoped.

Laduani added, through this program it is also expected to create more jobs so that the mindset of the community slowly changes and does not think about becoming civil servants, National Army/ Police or employees of State Owned Enterprises and Regional Owned Enterprises.

"Because actually this entrepreneurship has more benefits. It just takes skill, seriousness and commitment to be able to develop," he said.

President Director of Bank Papua, F. Zendarto said in an effort to encourage regional economic development, his party over the next three years, will allocate IDR 25 billion for the distribution of Papeda credit.

Each MSME has a borrowing limit of IDR 10 million. "But the installment is not charged interest, because it has been subsidized by the Papua Provincial Government".

"Just for the requirements, the borrower must really have a business and ID card that will be verified by Bank Papua with the Department of Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, MSMEs and Labor," he said. ***
