The Marine Affairs and Fisheries Department of Papua: Completion of RZWP3K Will Open More Job Opportunities
JAYAPURA – Papua Marine Affairs and Fisheries Department (DKP) is currently continuing to push for the completion of the Regional Zoning Plan for Coastal Areas and Islands (RZWP3K).
With the completion of the legal product, it is believed that it will open employment opportunities related to the use of marine space. The utilization requires permission from the Papua Provincial Government.
"Especially now that the business world in Papua is waiting and hopes that RZWP3K can be resolved. Because with RZWP3K, there will be certainty of licensing".
"That way job opportunities are open, but there is also income for the region," explained acting Head of The Marine Affairs and Fisheries Department of Papua, Iman Djuniawal, in Jayapura, Wednesday (08/25/2021).
"This is one of the jobs solutions for the people of Papua region," he said.
He said, since the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Regulation No. 23/2016 on Planning for Management of Coastal Areas and Small Islands was issued, most provinces in Indonesia have been vying to complete the RZWP3K Regulation.
Only the Province of Papua is still stagnant, because it is hampered by funding for technical matters in the preparation of the regulation.
"The RZWP3K should be completed this year. So we hope there is the attention of related institutions to encourage the completion of the preparation of the regulation," he concluded.
It is known, 13 coastal areas in Papua, namely Jayapura City and Jayapura Regency, Sarmi, Mamberamo Raya, Supiori, Yapen Islands, Waropen, Biak, Nabire, Mimika, Asmat, Mappi and Merauke. ***
